Recovery Road

On broken wings I'm falling

And it won't be long

The skin on me is burning

By the fires of the sun

On skinned knees

I'm bleeding

And it won't be long

I've got to find that meaning

I'll search for so long

I'm falling asleep and I can't see straight.

My muscles feel like a melee,

My body's curled in a U-shape.

I put on my best, but I'm still afraid.

I get to go home in one week.

But I'm leaving home in three weeks.

They throw me a bone just to pick me dry.

I'm following suit and directions.

I crawl up inside for protection.

I'm told what to do and I…

"Live Life With No Regrets" Part Two

If I could just go back in time

Wouldn't change a damn thing in my life

Love the dumb things we do when we're young

But the best is yet to come..

(Hinder)

An ambulance was used to transport me from the Intermountain Medical Center to the HealthSouth rehabilitation facility. The biggest challenge was getting the arms off the wheelchair. My scrotum had swollen after the accident, to the point that it was the size of a cantelope. The arms on the… Continue

"Live Life With No Regrets" Part One

"Go for it, run for it, dive in head first, live life with no regrets,

Put your heart out there, you might be scared, but it all works out in the end,

Because the best is yet to come

June 8, 2009, my life changed forever. Do I regret it? Not really. I'm grateful for the lessons I've learned, the friends I've made, the love I lost, and the personal… Continue

Thanks for the welcome Spot. The puppy is doing great and we have lots of fun with her.
I read all three parts of your blog. What a saga to hell and back. May there be days of bliss ahead my friend.

Good news about going home soon. A good friend (Jim Stoyas) who we lost in 82 once told me that skydivers seem to recover faster than most people.

Bad landing, lost a toggle at the end of a small swoop. Open-booked my pelvis, and then later developed some post-traumatic problems. I'm full of hardware. Between rodeo, motocross, and skydiving....I've got my share of titanium.
Looks like you're getting some good travel time in; good for you! Some of your photos are very inspiring!
As far as projects; we did a quickie BMW thing out on the Salt Flats, and outside of that...I'm mostly in bed with lots of ice, good pills, and sleeps.

I have been out of the loop. Not skydiving? Are you working on a project or is it an injury? I am taking care of buisness near Jerome then going north of Flagstaff tomarrow with the egg to get away from the heat and get some star time near some ruins up there.
How have you been?
It could happen, see you outside the fish bowl sometime..
