Broke my hand... :(

Hey folks, just to let you know, I'll not be jumping for a few weeks, as I broke my hand two days ago. What happened? I underestimated the wind speed and ended up too short on the landing field after my turn to final. Trouble was that on the low end there was a parking lot and big hedge with an even higher fence (like 3-4 m high),so even if I'd have made the fence I'd have come in on the parking lot. Since on the low side of the fence there was a soccer field, i decided to pull it into the socc… Continue

What was up recently

Hey folks, I havent been posting too much recently, but just because I was quite busy both in the air and at the desk... I had a fantastic baloon jump May 1st with a nice 4000 ft exit and crystal clear skies so that I could see the alps which were still covered in snow from 3000 ft up (then). Visibility must have been around 150/200 km. Simply amazing. Then I went to the Airkix Tunnel in the UK twice, once four weeks ago, and once more just four days ago for two hours each, 1 hour getting coachi… Continue

Traffic in Saigon

Hey everybody, Loan and I just got another (additional) vehicle to take us around Saigon. This is a rather stylish one, even though it has already caused us some grief - by a snapped throttle cable! :o/ Everything got fixed in a small streetside bikeshop for about 3 bucks th… Continue

Things you hear

There's a jump plane sitting around VN without a mission, they actually HAVE to fly it once a month to keep the engines in shape, as doing what it was acquired for doesnt work the way it was planned. Now all that is needed is a good airfield and enough jumpers to keep it running. It better be around 40 jumpers though... :o/

Another VietnamNet article

Here is another (english) article with the pictures. I have no clue how they got the idea that there were actually 160 participants and that the peoples commitee and the IPC were involved in the organization (what organization?) ;), but anyway, look at the pictures!

Hey Chris!

Yes, I will be in Aversi, Denmark from the 5th through the 8th of June, and in Voss a few days later. I don't have any dates in Germany as yet, but would love to come. Do you think there is enough interest at your DZ to create a course?
